Tools for search
Alphabetical index
All the words in the data base can be researched.
The figure that precedes the word in the index indicates its frequency in the texts.
In the English and Spanish data base, the words followed by the suffix “(FR)” are words coming from French books that have not been translated.
Some words present variations that one should bear in mind while selecting terms in the index. In actual fact, all the books did not use a capital letter with an accent;
consequently, in the index that gathers all the occurrences, we find words with and without the initial vowel marked with an accent, example: école/ecole.
The spelling of some proper nouns is not very consistent, example: Manresa, Manrèse, Manrèze.
Some words are shortened, example: “Mad.” for “Madeleine” or “Madame”.
To look for a word, write the word in the white space in the right window. Click on “Jump”, then click on this word in the index in alphabetical order to launch the search.
The word appears highlighted in the selected document. To see all the results of the search, go from one document to the other clicking on “Hits” (red arrows).
To go from one document to the other in the order of the corpus, click on “Docs” (yellow arrows).
